If you’re looking for some good reading this summer, your search is over, thanks to Environmental
Affairs and Corporate Safety, Health and Risk Management, which released the Anheuser-Busch
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Report for 2003.
The 54-page report and a four-page summary brochure are available for viewing at www.abenvironment.com or on the A-B Web. The report details the company’s efforts to preserve the environment, maintain a
safe and healthy workplace and improve efficiency in the use of natural resources.
Some highlights:
- The lost-time injury rate has declined 83 percent
since 1991.
- Overall water use has fallen 10 percent since 1999.
- The bio-energy recovery system (BERS) is providing
10 percent or more of fuel needs at the eight breweries
in the U.S. and its two international breweries in
Mortlake, UK, and Wuhan, China.
Anheuser-Busch Hosts Environmental Partners Meeting at SeaWorld San Diego, May 5-7.
Every two years, Anheuser-Busch hosts a National Environmental Partners Meeting comprised of Busch
Entertainment Corporation and A-B partners. The purpose of the meeting is to address conservation
issues and integrate our collective environmental ingenuity to help respond and support these
significant challenges.
This year, several Anheuser-Busch employees presented our key corporate responsibility and stewardship
programs to help our partners better understand our business. The presenters included MaryAlice
Ramirez (Environmental Outreach), Bob Freihaut (Consumer Awareness and Education), John Stier
(Environmental Affairs), Denise Burrell (ABRC), and Ginny Busch (BEC). In addition, our Environmental
Partners presented several new proactive projects that can be implemented throughout Anheuser-Busch
Companies.
